Bid to save clubs after spate of closures
ONE in 10 public golf courses has closed in the past five years, say campaigners.
Scotland has just 51 council-owned courses left, including two just miles from home of golf St Andrews.
Golf magazine Bunkered has launched its Public Golf Counts campaign in a bid to save them.
Data from Bunkered has seen a decline of almost 10 per cent since 2020, including Dundee's Caird Park in 2025 and Camperdown in 2020.
Since 2020, Glasgow has seen the closure of Ruchill, Linn Park and Alexandra Park, with only Knightswood and Littlehill remaining in the city.
