MONTY Python legend Eric Idle says he no longer enjoys watching TV as it is boring and formulaic.

The comedian, 82, was a key part of the pioneering sketch show that was the forerunner to alternative comedy for decades to come.

But of modern programming he said: “Television now seems to be people trying to bonk each other on islands, game shows or news shows, so it’s not terribly interesting.
