FASHION FIRM BOOMING SALES BOOST

FASHION giant Next yesterday upped its annual profit forecast by another £30million ahead of the crunch run-up to Christmas.

The industry heavyweight benefited from better stock levels and booming overseas sales.

Next, seen as a bellwether for the UK high street, said takings over the festive quarter are set to be significantly higher than previously predicted. It now expects annual profits to be up 12.2 per cent to £1.135billion and sales to rise 9.7 per cent to over £5.5billion.
