D'arcy on the clock for Six Nations action after ankle op post Pumas KO

SCOTLAND prop D'arcy Rae is in a race against the clock to get playing again before the Six Nations starts in less than three months’ time.

Scotland's first match is against Italy in Rome's Stadio Olimpico on Saturday, February 7 - just under 10-and-a-half weeks away.

But the 30-year-old injured an ankle in the 33-24 loss to Argentina 10 days ago and Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt revealed an op ended up inevitable.

The South African said: “Unfortunately D'arcy had to undergo surgery on his ankle.

“It’s an injury that he’s carried for a while and he reinjured it.”
