Defensive midfielder Priestman experienced life with the Socceroos' Under-23s while at Western Sydney Wanderers and he's convinced moving to Motherwell can help him realise his dream.

- ANDY McGILVRAY

He followed former Wanderers teammate Johnny Koutroumbis to Fir Park, joining fellow Aussie Apostolos Stamatelopoulos and Kiwi Elijah Just.

Aberdeen, Hibs, Dundee United and Hearts add to the contingent who have crossed continents.

The 22-year-old was part of the squad who clinched qualification for this month’s Asian Cup and said: ‘Tloved that group.

“That was a special moment, unbelievable. I've only represented the national team at Under-23, so that was my first involvement and I loved it.

“It’s just the national team I can play for now, so hopefully I get that at some point.

“Everyone has that ambition to play for their national team. That only happens from playing well and at a high level.
