NANCY BALL IS OUT OF CONTROL

Another win for Wilf but chaos doesn't bode well

FRANTIC, chaotic, thrilling, bonkers - and that was just the first nine minutes.

Almost a month in and it’s getting no easier trying to fathom what to make of the so-called 'Nancy Ball' after Celtic made it back-to-back wins under the Frenchman following a madcap first half at Livingston.

But if you want to hunt the internet for an explanation of the term 'risk and reward football' then you might just stumble across the opening 45 minutes of this wildly entertaining encounter.

The Hoops eventually made their way back down the M8 with the reward of all three points.

But only after putting themselves in real peril and having to fight back twice in the opening 10 minutes when Cristian Montano's double for Livingston was cancelled out by Benjamin Nygren and Yang Hyun-jun.

A stunning second from Nygren and an Arne Engels penalty before the break made sure of the points. Yet Nancy admitted himself it was chaotic at times. That was an understatement.

The problem with chaos is the lack of control, its unpredictability.

And right now that's exactly how Celtic look, unpredictable and lacking genuine control in games.

Great going forward. An accident waiting to happen defensively.

They've netted 10 times in six games under Nancy, seven of those in their last two outings, and the signs are that things are beginning to click in front of the opposition goal.

But in front of their own? That's now 13 goals conceded in six games. They only shipped six goals in eight matches under Martin O'Neill before the former Columbus Crew gaffer's arrival.

Celtic are becoming a safe bet for 'both teams to score' punters down at the bookies.
