JOHN MCGINN is confident Aston Villa's slow start to the season is a blip as they chase a return to the Champions League.

The Villans have a point on the board but more worryingly have failed to score in their opening two games for the first time since 2002.

After failing to respond to Dango Ouattara's early goal at Brentford, skipper McGinn was struggling to come up with a reason for his side's goalless start.

But the Scotland star believes it's only a matter of time until this group of players click into top gear.
