IN A world of bad news it is welcome that a peace deal has been agreed in the Middle East.

The deal between Israel and Hamas to pause fighting in Gaza and release some hostages and prisoners was announced by Donald Trump.
It came two days after the second anniversary of the October 7 attacks by Palestinian militant group Hamas on Israel.
