JAKE HAS SOME FIGHT, MAN

Silver feels like gold but it's hurt for Josh
MULTIPLE injuries, mental torture, plain bad luck. Jake Wightman's had to fight vigorously through them all.
But the Scot proved himself a warrior on the track in Tokyo yesterday by taking a superb silver in the men’s 1500 metres final at the World Athletics Championships.
The 31-year-old from Edinburgh was denied a repeat of his glorious gold of 2022 by just two-hundredths of a second as Portugal's Isaac Nader overhauled him at the finish line.
But it was reward for persistence after he was unable to defend his global title in Budapest in 2023 and then forced to scratch from the Paris 2024 Olympics late on.
