ON THE UP Thistle celebrate win over Dunfermline last week

PARTICK THISTLE are doing a decent job of keeping pace with St Johnstone in the Championship title race and should bank another three points when Arbroath come to Firhill this afternoon.

A battling midweek win over Queen's Park saw the Jags move six points behind Saints and they still have a game in hand.

Thistle now take on an Arbroath side who have hit a slump after a flying start to the season.

They've lost 5-0 and 3-0 to Dunfermline and Raith so I fancy a Partick to be winning at halftime and full-time, which pays 7/5 at McBookie.

St Johnstone are flying but they have a tricky one today at home to an Ayr side who are showing signs of life again.
