'Criminal attack' kills one in Doha

ISRAEL shattered hopes of a Gaza peace deal after its deadly air blitz against Hamas chiefs in Qatar's capital Doha yesterday.

Qatar's Interior Ministry said one of its security personnel was killed in the attack and other members were hurt.

It is believed Israel deployed 15 fighter bombers to launch as many as 10 bombs against Hamas, which it claims did not kill the leadership.

Qatar branded it a "criminal attack." It sparked global criticism.

PM Keir Starmer said: "I condemn Israel's strikes on Doha. The priority must be an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages and a huge surge in aid into Gaza."

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres added: "All parties must work towards achieving a permanent ceasefire, not destroying it."
