Warns of widening inequality

A TOP medic has claimed the SNP Government's new GP walk-in centres will widen inequalities by attracting wealthier patients.

Dr Chris Provan also said the new policy is “unworkable”, “more costly” and will not solve the 8am lottery for appointments.

The Scottish Government has committed to rolling out 16 walk-in centres after an SNP conference promise made by First Minister John Swinney.

The first centre opened in Edinburgh in February and other services will soon be available in Dundee, Benbecula, Shetland, Stranraer and Hawick.
