His rude, stroppy children are going to ruin Christmas

My son and daughter are away at university, so we only see them during holidays and some weekends. My partner's kids are a bit younger, but live with their mum and stay with us every other weekend.My issue is, while my children are lovely to my partner and enjoy doing family things, his kids aren't very nice. I know that sounds bad, but it's true. They're moody and difficult and have never made any effort. I'm lucky if I get two words out of them. They only speak to me to confirm what they want for lunch and dinner - the rest of the time they're on their phones.
