Stephen is captivated by sunny delights of life Down Under and urges UK officers to give it a go

A POLICEMAN has spoken about his decision to quit the force in Britain to fight crime in Australia.

Constable Stephen Wallace is now pounding the beat in Adelaide, having emigrated with his wife and three children last October.

He is one of a growing number of Scots officers choosing life Down Under following a major recruitment drive by the Australian authorities for British cops.

Based on his first year on the job, he reckons police are treated better Down Under.

He said: "I think people are more willing to assist police officers here in investigations and more willing to give statements.
