Callum: We need new faces and boss is gutted but everyone at the club is accountable for loss

THE Celtic blame game is in full swing following Tuesday night's Champions League car crash in Kazakhstan.

But Callum McGregor insists EVERYONE at the club has to accept responsibility for the abject failure.

Celtic fans are still in a state of shock after the humiliation of going out at the playoff stage to a Kairat Almaty side ranked 311th in Europe.

Seething supporters have no doubt where the buck stops - with Parkhead chiefs in the firing line for failing to bolster the squad in time for the £40million showdown.

McGregor admitted the team DOES need new faces ~ but that doesn't let anyone off the hook.

The woeful recruitment played a huge part, though, and left boss Brendan Rodgers with a patchwork side.

But Celtic still should have had enough quality and tactical guile to deal with a team that was no better than physical and well organised.

McGregor said: “You have to trust the people in the right position to do their jobs and get what we need. Everyone at the club is accountable. The players are accountable, the manager is accountable along with the coaching staff and the guys upstairs.

“Everyone is working for the game goal, we all want Celtic to be successful and playing in the best competitions.

“So we have to trust the guys to replace the quality that we've lost in the squad.

“That might take time but we obviously have much of it now.
