Former MP's grief over ally's death

JOANNA Cherry is set to reveal new information in her memoirs next year in a bid to clear Alex Salmond's name.

The former SNP MP said the late first minister was a victim of a "conspiracy to pervert the course of justice".

Cherry was an SNP MP for nearly a decade and fell out with Nicola Sturgeon when she led the party.

She was also a political ally of Salmond until his death in North Macedonia last year.
