CELTIC BOYS CLUB: 9 NEW ABUSE CASES
September 05, 2025
|Daily Record
NINE further cases involving historic sex abuse claims at Celtic Boys Club have emerged after 24 victims received a seven-figure payout.
The Record understands those cases - relating to abuse by Jim Torbett, Frank Cairney and Jim McCafferty - have not previously been made public.
It comes as the Court of Session ended group proceedings in which Celtic FC paid over £1million to 24 of 28 cases represented by Thompsons Solicitors.
Discussions continue in three remaining cases. Offers have been made by Celtic but they have not yet been concluded.
One remaining case has been left without instructions, which is therefore unable to proceed.
A source close to the case said: "In addition to those three ongoing cases, there are nine other cases ongoing against Celtic plc relating to historical child abuse perpetrated by Torbett, Cairney and McCafferty.
"Those cases are all at differing stages and we expect them all to also settle."
