Unpopular leaders are order of the day as Dundee leave Hoops fans sobbing with first home win since the Thatcher era
MARGARET THATCHER was Prime Minister the last time Dundee stunned Celtic on Tayside.
And the much-hated Milk Snatcher is probably still marginally more popular with Parkhead punters than the under-siege Hoops board.
Celtic slumped to defeat at Dens Park for the first time in 37 years after deadly Dundee did a superb number on the champions.
Clark Robertson's header and a Cameron Carter-Vickers own goal secured Steven Pressley's superb side a sensational win to spark their season.
And it intensified the anger around Celtic right now with another fan demonstration at kickoff - and boos after the final whistle. There's unrest off the pitch with Celts - and major problems on it.
Away punters lobbed tennis balls but Dundee showed they had plenty of their own. Pressley's men were a proper threat with the likes of Cameron Congreve causing grief down the right.
They had forced a few openings before Robertson struck in 18 minutes when the skipper drifted off Carter-Vickers to thump home his header from Congreve's corner.
Kieran Tierney wasted a great chance to level soon after and while the visitors hogged the ball, it was Dundee who posed the threat.
And it was 2-0 in first-half stoppage time when Congreve again burst forward and left Liam Scales in his wake before his ball was diverted into his own net by Carter-Vickers after Murray had helped it on its way.
Rodgers chucked on an extra striker in Johnny Kenny and went to three at the back in a bid to wrest back control.
