Fans' idol Jota marks second Celtic debut with clinching goal but support waiting to see if club will replace Kyogo

- MICHAEL GANNON AT FIR PARK

BACK AKING ELTIC ING

HE spent 18 months feeling unloved but just minutes to realise there's no place like home.

Jota got a hero's welcome from Celtic fans when he headed out for his warm up at Fir Park. And by the end there were tears of joy when he was leading the celebrations like he'd never left in the first place.

Hoops fans will be hooked to the news all day today in the hope some more firepower will be added to replace the departed Kyogo Furuhashi. But this victory against Motherwell proved the ones already on the books are not too shabby either.

Adam Idah bagged another one on the back of his Aston Villa double, while Daizen Maeda made it 16 goals for the season.

Motherwell's new recruit Luke Armstrong briefly had his side level - but there was always a feeling the biggest signing of the window so far was going to steal the show.

Jota got some roar when he came off the bench with 25 minutes to go but it was nothing compared to the noise when he bagged the killer third in stoppage time. The fans' favourite is up and running - now they wait to see who is coming along for the ride.

Idah and Maeda could end up the two strikers, and while they'll need help, it would hardly be a bad thing.

The pair of them were superb against the Steelmen and it could have been a more comfortable afternoon but for a couple of goals ruled out for hairline offside calls.

Celtic fans will expect deadline-day business though, even if everything is going smoothly.
