Westminster follows Scotland by giving younger people a say
SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLDS will be allowed to vote in the next general election for the first time, the UK Government has confirmed.
The voting age for Scottish elections is already 16 but will now be lowered from 18 for UK Parliament elections as well.
Keir Starmer revealed the plan yesterday, saying: "I think it's really important that 16 and 17-year-olds have the vote, because they are old enough to go out to work, they are old enough to pay taxes, so pay in.
