New Hope Of Port Partially Re-Opening After Damage

BOSSES at Holyhead Port have issued an update on progress to reopen stormdamaged facilities.

Haulage companies had been desperate for clarity at one of Britain's busiest ports.

Operations at the Anglesey site came to a standstill following damage caused during Storm Darragh. The closure caused major sea route disruption between North Wales and Dublin in the Republic of Ireland.

The port was not expected to reopen 'until January 15 at the earliest' and, given the scale of the damage, it was feared the facility port could be closed until at least March.
