McNeil admits Toffees were punished for not taking their chances

Not for the first time this season, the Blues threw away a 2-0 lead against the Tractor Boys at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Beto had headed David Moyes’ side ahead before McNeil made it 2-0; however, Julio Enciso reduced the deficit just before the break.

George Hirst then equalised for Kieran McK-enna’s side 11 minutes from time.

And reflecting on the draw, McNeil admitted: “I think we were in control right from the start, 2-0 up at home, that's the place we wanted to be, and then they scored just before half-time, and we knew the start of the second half was going to be tricky, but I thought we controlled the game really well.

“And like I say, in this league, if you don’t take your chances, you're going to get punished.
