Lifeboat despatched to sinking car

A NORTH Wales beach claimed another vehicle last week when an Audi was swallowed by the sea.

Traeth y Greigddu (Black Rock Sands), near Porthmadog, is like a sea siren for cars and motorhomes. The drive-on beach is beautiful - but it can be treacherous for vehicles that get stuck in the sand as the tide rapidly comes in.

Earlier this year saw a spate of incidents at the beach, with a motorhome and a convertible VW Beetle among the vehicles stuck and the submerged.
