Striker Fletcher reflects on his time playing for Wrexham
Steven Fletcher and Elliott Lee celebrate Wrexham's promotion into League One
STEVEN FLETCHER played in almost 200 Premier League matches during his career, scoring goals for the likes of Wolves and Sunderland.
However, the former Scotland striker insists nothing came close to the surreal, Hollywood-fuelled ride he experienced during two unforgettable seasons at Wrexham.
Fletcher joined the club in September 2023 and helped fire them to back-to-back promotions from League Two and League One.
The 38-year-old’s spell with the Red Dragons ended this summer when he was released. Choosing to hang up his boots, Fletcher has been reflecting on life under owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, admitting the perks of playing at the Racecourse Ground left him stunned.
