'Idiots' keep climbing up Christmas tree in town

A TREE climber who clambered on the Christmas evergreen in an historic town centre has been branded an "idiot" This weekend saw damage done to the festive tree on St Peter's Square in Ruthin.

It is the third time it has happened when it has been located by the town clock and opposite the popular Castle Hotel Wetherspoons pub.
There were previous incidents in 2022 and 2023. Last Christmas it was in a different location due to work on the clock.
On that occasion there was no vandalism although the tree couldn't catch a break as it ended up being damaged by high winds.
