Community council is accused of 'failings'

PEOPLE living in an Anglesey community have petitioned for a review after saying they had “lost confidence” in a community council.

They alleged “persistent failings, poor judgement, and a serious lack of transparency regarding local governance and representation” at Pentraeth Community Council.

‘The details are laid out in an Anglesey County Council report.

Members of the electorate in the Pentraeth community ward had submitted a petition to Anglesey County Council.

‘They had called for the council to initiate “a section 31 community governance review” of Pentraeth Community Council.

‘The petition asked that the county council suspended any co-option or electoral appointments to Pentraeth Community Council until a community review has taken place.
