A CONTROLLING man isolated his partner from her family to such an extent they slept in a tent on the Great Orme, while she was pregnant.

Leon Marsh, 20, admitted using controlling and coercive behaviour against his former partner between July last year and April this year, and to sending a communication threatening a man on October 31 last year.

A judge at Caernarfon Crown Court yesterday gave Marsh 16-month and eight-month consecutive jail terms, suspended for two years, for those offences respectively.

She said society and particularly women would be better protected in the long run if the probation service work with him following his 'chaotic and traumatic' childhood.

Prosecutor Jade Tufail said Marsh and the woman began a relationship in June last year. Her family bought him clothes and took him to job interviews.

However, things deteriorated. The court heard about a number of incidents.
