There are wonderful indoor plants that hail from steamy jungles and rainforests we can grow indoors to enjoy the exotic flowers.

Anthurium is also known as the flamingo flower and is recognisable due to its brightly coloured spathe, a type of leaf from which the flowering spike (spadix) emerges.

"Red Champion" has heart-shaped glossy red spathes with a contrasting yellow flower spike, making it a very festive plant.

There are other cultivars which have white or pink spathes as well as the crystal anthurium which has big heart-shaped velvet dark green leaves.
