Summer’s stretching its legs, and The Midlands are feeling the heat!

A solid dose of rain this week has added some juice to the system — and while we’re hoping it doesn’t go full-December-meltdown again, it’s done wonders for the rivers.

The runoff has coloured up the middle and lower stretches, and judging by the mud-splattered bakkies cruising around, “The Mudlands” are officially in motion!

The rains have given the rivers a proper flush, and although the fishing’s been a bit sluggish, things are looking primed to fire.

The Bushman’s produced a lone fish in the 9-11 inch (23-28cm) class — small in number, but hey, the season’s just warming up.

The Bushman’s and Umngeni are regaining their sparkle, and the upper Bushman’s is looking peachy.
