NHS chiefs today issue an early New Year's Eve appeal in the Mirror for blood donors to come forward urgently.
-
They are asking people to take time off during the festive break to give a lifesaving gift.
Volunteers are needed to fill more than 2,700 vacant appointments available in major town and city centre donor centres.
