Travel hell warning as major rain storm hits

FLOODING and heavy rain could cause travel chaos this weekend with forecasters warning of threats to life from fast-flowing rivers.

Parts of the North West and Western Scotland will be hit with major and persistent downpours causing potential power cuts, said the Met Office.

Yellow weather warnings are in place for late this afternoon, with four inches of rainfall possible.
