Tax private healthcare

RACHEL Reeves should remove the VAT exemption on private healthcare to raise billions for the NHS, Neil Kinnock has said.

The move, mirroring new VAT charges for private schools, would not break her pledge to raise taxes.

Chancellor Reeves is battling to plug the hole in public finances after U-turns on cuts to disability benefits and winter fuel payments.
