£130bn plan for elevated 300mph rail network

A TOP architect has proposed a raised 300mph rail line linking cities across northern Britain and even Ireland.

Chris Williamson, president of the Royal Institute of British Architects, says his idea, called The Loop, would connect Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bangor, Dublin and Belfast.
