A LOVING sister has saved the life of her brother not once, but twice.

- BY JEREMY ARMSTRONG

Mum-of-one Holly Murdy, 39, was found to be a rare bone marrow match for sibling Ben Uttley.

Ben, 41, had aplastic anaemia, which meant his body stopped producing white blood cells and had no immune system to fight infection.

Marketing manager Holly first stepped up for a transplant in 2018 when her brother was diagnosed.

Siblings have a 25% chance of being a match, but only a third of patients will have a match within their family.

In Holly and Ben's case, their match was a good one as if they were twins.

After the transplant bank manager Ben-dad to Calvin, four, and Lochlan, 10 - recovered and returned to work.
