Safe roads plan led by victims of tragedies

A TRANSPORT minister told of heartbreaking chats with bereaved families as she defended plans to cut the drink-drive limit.

Lilian Greenwood spoke about her conversations with people who had lost loved ones in car crashes while she worked on an overhaul of driving laws.

Revealed in the Mirror yesterday, it includes slashing the booze limit from 35 to 22 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.
