Pep wants Foden to find joy on pitch again: He is an extraordinary player

PEP GUARDIOLA has backed Phil Foden to recover from a disappointing period and show his "extraordinary" quality for Manchester City this season.

The 25-year-old was the cornerstone of City's last Premier League triumph in 2023/24, scoring 19 goals in 35 games - including a stunning brace against West Ham on the final day to ensure Arsenal were pipped at the post.

However, he netted just seven times in the league last term as Guardiola's side finished third and failed to collect silverware for the first time since 2016-17.

But, after missing the victory over Wolves on the opening day with an ankle issue, Foden is set to return against Tottenham this afternoon and his manager expects to see the best of him.
