MI6 could get first female spy boss in its 115-year history

THE outgoing MI6 spy chief has paved the way for a woman to get the job for the first time.

Sir Richard Moore, 61, is due to step down as head of the Secret Intelligence Service later this year.

Among the London-based service's four directors-general are three females including the modern-day spy known as Q, his deputy.

Dame Judi Dench played Secret Service chief M in the James Bond films from 1995 to 2015 but in real life, MI6 has not had a female in charge in its 115-year history.
