Neighbourhood boost welcome

OUR communities are in desperate need of help. The heart and soul have been ripped out of so many towns and cities. High crime rates, socially unacceptable behaviour and a lack of investment have all played a part.

This money will be a welcome boost and will hopefully rejuvenate areas so people can be proud of where they live and not afraid to walk the streets.

Our local park could be wonderful but instead it's a no-go area with crowds of youngsters deterring people from wanting to go there as they are too frightened.

I hope this scheme can be extended to other areas in the future. Businesses should get involved and invest money in projects all over the country.

I do hope the proposed plan for neighbourhoods can kickstart growth and regenerate towns and cities. The real test will be if this improves the lives of the people living in these places.

So many times we have seen projects in neighbourhoods that have only catered for a small section of the community.
