DONALD Trump did not step outside the walls of Windsor Castle yesterday after being flown straight inside its grounds by helicopter.

- BY PATRICK HILL and JOSHUA WHORMS in Windsor and SASKIA ROWLANDS

And while he was airlifted into a world of pomp and pageantry, he remained hidden from the protesters and supporters gathered outside.

On Windsor High Street, right outside the historic royal residence, people came to either cheer or jeer the president.

Self-declared “Shaman Shimshon of QAnon” greeted Trump’ aircraft with a blow on his war-style horn before describing him as: “The greatest president ever.”

A man in a Union Jack cowboy hat, sunglasses and shoes, along with a tailor-made waistcoat decorated with both the Union Jack and stars and stripes, was also among the crowd.

And an artist proudly held a painting depicting Trump as a caveman holding up a helpless looking King Charles.

There to record them were global TV news crews who had camped outside the castle since dawn.

Trump superfan Jonas Viereck, 21, was wearing a Make America Great Again cap and clutching a microphone decorated with his own face.

LANYARD

He is a regular at Trump visits across Europe and was filming content for his social media channel after travelling from his home near Frankfurt, Germany.

He said: “I love his resilience, his charisma. Anything that can spoil him he only comes back stronger and he always remains the same.”

Another Trump fan, Augustine Obodo, stood outside the castle wearing a lanyard which read ‘I Witnessed History and a T-shirt with the slogan Trump Was Right About Everything’. He said: “Today is a great day. A day nobody thought in the whole world could have happened.”
