'Killing of aid workers is tragic'

PRINCE William has called the killing of aid workers in conflict zones a cruel affront to humanitarian principles.

The Prince of Wales made the comment in a speech opening a memorial for humanitarian workers, speaking to guests including staff of Médecins Sans Frontières and the Mines Advisory Group.

With bereaved families and attack survivors also there, William said that last year, the number of aid workers killed on duty was 385, and this year it was at 300 already.
