PHIL FODEN has asked to be left out of Thomas Tuchel's England squad to work on his mental health and fitness.

Foden has made public his request just days before Tuchel names his latest squad for the upcoming games against Andorra and Senegal.

The Manchester City midfielder, who has endured a remarkable drop-off in form, revealed he has been struggling for most of the campaign with personal issues and injuries.

Foden — who was crowned PFA Player of the Year and Football Writers' Footballer of the Year last season - has scored just 10 goals in 44 games for City this term.
