THERE is a long way to go in healing the royal rift, but Prince Harry and the King are said to be ready for the first step after 19 months of anguish.

- BY CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN

Harry is expected to be in London on September 8, and his father has a gap in his diary - meaning the pair can meet for the first time since February 2024.

Prince William is said to have rejected the chance to reconcile with his brother.

But a source in the US said the time is right for Harry and Charles, who has been undergoing cancer treatment, to speak.

The source told the Mirror: “It’s clear there is now a determination on both sides to make this happen.

“Nobody is pretending the wider family issues have been resolved, but this is about beginning with Charles and Harry. For the first time in a long time, there's a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach.
