FALDO AIMS A SWIPE AT LIV
December 17, 2025
|Daily Mirror UK
SIR NICK FALDO has labelled some of the LIV breakaway players the “luckiest golfers in the world”.
England's greatest-ever Major champion put the boot into the Saudi-backed tournaments that have bestowed extraordinary prize money potential on those willing to jump ship from the PGA Tour.
Faldo, who won three Opens and three US Masters, reckons some mediocre players are playing for Hollywood money but doing themselves no good other than the chance to stockpile cash.
"LIV - how would I describe it? I just let them go and do their own thing, they believe they're doing a great product," Faldo told the NCG Golf Podcast.
"My line now is that they're the luckiest golfers in the world, because you've got half the field you haven't heard of playing in a $25m tournament each week.
