Ex broke my heart but says he could help me move on

I'd been seeing my boyfriend for two years before he dumped me out of the blue a few weeks ago. It's been awful and I've never cried this much in my life.

I got home from work one night to find his stuff gone from my flat. He was too cowardly to tell me in person, so he called me later that night, claiming he was "still messed up about relationships" after his ex-wife cheated on him with her boss.

He said he realised he needed to spend time on his own to figure out what he wants because he'd never taken the time to do it after his divorce.

What I can't get my head around is there was no warning, no conversations - nothing. I've just been left hanging.
