PM plans new powers for police after pro-Palestine demo
OFFENSIVE chanting could be targeted in a crackdown on protests, Keir Starmer has hinted.
Earlier this week, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood outlined plans to give police forces new powers to stop protesters repeatedly holding demonstrations at the same site.
The clampdown comes after almost 500 people were arrested at a pro-Palestine march in London at the weekend.
It followed the Prime Minister's claim that holding demonstrations on the anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attacks in Israel was “un-British”.
