Search part of inquiry into allegations he leaked No10 information to pal Epstein
PETER Mandelson's homes were raided by police yesterday as part of the investigation into claims he leaked government information to his paedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein.
Specialist crime teams carried out searches at two properties linked to the former US ambassador in Wiltshire and Camden, North London.
After the release of the latest Epstein files Lord Mandelson is facing allegations he leaked information to the financier after the 2008 economic crash, while in Gordon Brown's government.
Keir Starmer is fighting for political survival after he made him ambassador.
Mandelson has previously denied criminal wrongdoing relating to his friendship with sex offender Epstein, who died in a New York prison in 2019.
It is believed Mandelson was inside his lavish townhouse, on the edge of Regent's Park, when police first entered at around 3.30pm.
FARMHOUSE
Plain-clothed officers were seen showing ID and entering with empty packing boxes. They later left, carrying one filled.
Mandelson's partner Reinaldo Avila da Silva was spotted through a rear window of the house speaking to a police officer shortly after 6pm.
The home, which is reportedly worth £7.6million, boasts a patio garden, three bedrooms, two reception rooms and three bathrooms.
When he moved in in 2012 celebrity neighbours included Kate Moss, Jude Law and Sienna Miller.
