City miles ahead in Sem hunt

MANCHESTER CITY are in advanced talks to sign Antoine Semenyo with Chelsea having ditched a late move to snatch the Bournemouth winger.

City believe they are well-placed to snap up the 25-year-old, though other clubs have made enquiries.

Chelsea are understood to have made checks on the conditions of Semenyo's release clause, which amounts to an initial £60million, plus £5m in add-ons, and expires on January 10.

But Chelsea have opted to end their interest in the Cherries star, leaving the way clear for City.
