How Sven died with debts of £8.6m
FORMER England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson died millions of pounds in debt, his estate inventory has revealed.
During his career, Sven earned big money managing teams including England and Lazio - but he was close to bankruptcy after allegedly being scammed out of £10million.
The document shows he was 118 million kronor (£8.6m) in debt - almost £7.25m of it reportedly to HMRC - when he died aged 76 in August after suffering from pancreatic cancer.
Respected Swedish newspaper Goteborgs Posten said it revealed 66 million kronor in assets, but the estate inventory also shows he had debts of 118 million kronor - a deficit of just over 51 million kronor (£3.7m).
It has recently been reported his Bjorkefors Manor, located on Lake Fryken in Varmland near Sunne, Sweden, has been put up for sale.
DANGER
The Eriksson family's lawyer, Anders Runebjer, told Swedish publication Expressen: "It is no surprise at all for those involved.
"It was expected. Svennis even said that 'I will not leave any money behind me'. And that was the case."
