BALDING HAS LEFT A HUGE LEGACY BEHIND

IAN BALDING, trainer of the legendary Mill Reef - and father of Classic winner Andrew and TV presenter Clare — has passed away at the age of 87.

Balding (below), also a Cheltenham Festival-winning rider, shaped the careers of many top-class horses after taking the reins at Park House Stables in Kingsclere upon the death of Peter Hastings-Bass in 1964.
