EastEnders scoundrel Branning in sinister return as Zoe shot

EASTENDERS bad boy Max Branning made a shock return to the soap last night after four years.

He appeared at the end of the episode after viewers had found out Zoe Slater, who has only just returned to Albert Square herself, had been shot.

Zoe, played by Michelle Ryan, 41, is fighting for her life in hospital as her mother Kat watches over her fearing that someone is out to harm her.

Then Zoe's phone rings and Kat (Jessie Wallace) answers, saying: "Is this you? Have you been threatening my girl? You will be hunted down, you scum"
